Background

I am a Project Management Coach (all the various flavours such as consulting or training, etc) and since 2001 I’ve been doing human resource development in the mining and engineering, governmental, and energy sectors. My main activity is facilitating workshops, assessing individuals, providing mentoring and coaching to teams or individuals, and doing training for high level individuals and senior executives of large organisations. My assignments last year were with some of the larger mining houses in South Africa and Ghana as well as gas and oil companies in Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. A few years ago I worked for IBM as a Project Executive responsible for some large outsourcing contracts. My customers included CNA, GJMC and SAB.

I enjoy the internet and to keep in contact with the latest developments I own and run a small ISP called Modiredi which provides specialised hosting services to small PM companies. I am not an expert but I can help myself around a Linux server, a Cisco router and some web database development tools. Enough to be able to explain to the youngsters what I want them to do!

I am divorced now but I’ve been blessed with 3 beautiful children that are still alive (Tracey, Ryno and Tiffiny) plus their add-ons, and also some other semipermanent children (André and Cecile and Carel and Renier) whose pictures will regularly appear all over my site.

Leisure

Outdoors, Camping, Travel. And good dinners with all the special people He’s blessing me with. Plus … as I went through my divorce I became aware of the damage my little one was suffering throughout, and I decided to help other parents and children going through similar events to make it easier for the children. Leon Uys is a World Class Project Management Coach, Assessor, Mentor and Public Speaker with more than 20 years experience in the project management industry.  Over the last 13 years Leon has successfully completed assignments for various overseas customers in Accra and Obuasi, Ghana; Bamako in Mali; Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania; Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE; Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Doha in Qatar in addition to his excellent results all over his home country, South Africa.

Leon is well known in the Middle East for regularly facilitating a 5-day event called “The Effective Project Coordinator” but Leon’s signature event is a 5-day interactive course for project management managers (yes, your’e right!) aimed at accelerating performance for managers in their organisations. He regularly facilitates PMP(r) preparation workshops for candidates who are interested in taking the PMP(r) Certification exam.

Leon was previously retained by BRP Project Management as a Principal Trainer, Assessor, Coach and Project Manager and has trained more than 3000 delegates in that period on project management principles and tools.
